Dr Ali provides holistic sleep and feeding support appointments informed by The NDC Institute (formerly Possum’s & Co) principles.
As an NDC accredited practitioner, Dr Ali provides an evidence-based alternative to sleep training in her sleep consults that supports infant development and attachment.
Dr Ali is trained in the Gestalt breastfeeding approach which helps mothers with position and attachment to achieve pain-free and effective feeding. She is also currently completing her IBCLC with Dr Eliza Hannam at Nurtured Medical.
Dr Ali enjoys combining her experience as a mother and her training to provide families with realistic and supportive advice.

Approximate fee: $226
Package inclusions: Your appointment includes a thorough medical examination of your baby (to assess for a medical condition as a cause for sleep disruption) and an in depth discussion about your concerns. After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what we discussed, our recommended plan and links to relevant resources. The package also includes <30 mins follow up in the practice or via video Telehealth consultation 1-2 weeks after appointment
Additional follow up video telehealth consultations will incur an additional small out of pocket fee

This package provides in-depth, individualised support with your little one’s sleep, with the reassurance of a detailed written management plan and a video telehealth follow up. Let me guide you through an evidence – based alternative to sleep training, while your little one is free to roam, play or sleep in the comfort of their own home.

This in -depth package is the Telehealth equivalent of the other in-depth packages. It combines individualised and thorough support with the flexibility and convenience of Telehealth.
Appointment duration: 60 mins

Package inclusions: Your video telehealth appointment includes detailed history taking and if relevant, “examination” of your baby through the camera. After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what we discussed, my recommended plan and links to relevant resources. Package also includes a follow up video telehealth consultation <30 mins 1-2 weeks later
Additional out of pocket fee applies for follow up if baby >12 months

Lactation Support

This package provides in-depth, individualised support with lactation/ breastfeeding, in the practice, and with the reassurance of a detailed written management plan and a 30 mins follow up appointment.
Appointment duration: 75 mins .

Package inclusions: Includes a thorough medical examination of your baby (including a tongue tie assessment) and observation of a feed with hands on help to optimise latch and position. After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what we discussed, our recommended plan and links to relevant resources. Package also includes a 30 mins follow up appointment at the practice or via video Telehealth consultation, 1-2 weeks after the appointment

This in-depth Telehealth appointment includes (where possible) observation of a feed and real-time advice to optimise latch and position.
Appointment duration: 60 mins
Approximate fee: $161
Appointment inclusions: Your video telehealth appointment includes detailed history taking and where possible, observation of a feed with real-time advice to help optimise latch and position (ideally requires another adult to hold device camera).
After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what we discussed, my recommended plan and links to relevant resources. Package also includes a follow up video telehealth consultation <30 mins 1-2 weeks later
Additional out of pocket fee applies to follow up if baby >12 months

These appointments are more appropriate for older babies or simpler issues; for example, to discuss starting day care, transition to solids, weaning, advice about bottle feeding etc.
These appointments are conducted in practice or via Telehealth.

Appointment inclusions: Your appointment includes detailed history taking and if relevant, examination of your baby
If you have selected Telehealth the examination will occur through the camera where possible.
After the appointment you will receive a brief written summary of our recommended plan and links to relevant resources.
There is no follow up included in this appointment fee.

Dr Ali provides consultations during pregnancy for women preparing and planning for breastfeeding. This includes a one on one assessment and tailored information designed to optimise your chance of successfully breastfeeding.
You have the option to have this appointment in the comfort of your home, where you’ll be feeding your newborn after the birth.
Appointment inclusions: Your appointment includes detailed discussion about your medical history, previous feeding experience and your questions, concerns and goals around feeding. If relevant, visit includes an examination of breasts and nipples. We will have an in depth discussion about what to expect, how to optimise latch and position, hand expression of colostrum and how to prevent and manage nipple pain and trauma. After the appointment you will receive a written summary of what we discussed and links to relevant resources.
Consultations can be over Telehealth, in the practice or in the comfort of your home.
